Unfortunately folks weren't able to keep things civil and constructive, so we had to lock this thread. Everyone can still vote, though.

this would send minecraft "under question".(eh, just an idiom.) the fact that minecrafts block does not fall cant be changed easily, not because of programing, look by a simple update (i mean 1.9) many people who loved pvp and action part of minecraft turned into crybabies, now please dont suggest to turn builders into crybabies. i dont wanna more peple have more reasons to leave minecraft community.

I see your reasoning but Minecraft isn’t meant to be 100% realistic. Gravity just... isn’t Minecraft. This idea isn’t good for builders or survival players alike

This is just useless, how would you make domes? Realistic sealings? Caves?! Think a little bit before proposing useless ideas

So, you would make domes the same way, except, you would need a pillar in the middle to hold it up , or, if it was connected to a foundation of the building, it would not need a pillar. :)

And again, caves are attached to the whole entire minecraft world and realistic ceilings would be connected to the walls to hold them up and of course that would need a foundation. :) Thank you for your questions and feedback!

how do you wanna add this? think i am jeb(my best example!) and i wanna add this to mc. but how? how can i make blocks understand to stick to each other and dont fall in some conditions, and fall otherwise?scoreboard?nbt tags? would it fill minecraft with millions and millions and millions and millions of different lags? think i made a 1*x*1 pillar. if i put a block in the side of highest block will it fall? if yes, so think about a 1*x*y wall. a single block must fall at this condition too. so, can you explain how we gonna make dome? TAP TAP TAP quick place blocks before they fall!!

So if you placed another block attached to the top of the pillar, no it would not fall because it would be attached to the pillar and it would not fall if attached to the ceiling unless you broke the block in the ceiling holding it up, but if it already was a pillar attached to the floor this would not be a problem, and on occasion, maybe if an illager beast somehow gets in your house and starts jumping to get to you, it’s weight might make the pillar collapse, idk just a mob idea. And if a block is attached to another one somehow, even diagonally it would not fall. There is your answer, if you have any more questions please ask.

😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐 i think i got your pain!! you mean blocks must not float, but can stick to each other. ok. mojang this idea is great! remove the end!! end must do not exist! damn with bedwars! dawn with maps! reamove ALL of them.just because of when you punch a log and a tree turns into a group of floating blocks, it must fall! how do you wanna explain this?(he he he... i know whats your answer and ill checkmate you!)

My answer to this is, the end, bedwars and maps, is they would need a game rule in order to float and in the end, bedwars, and skywards etc. there would be no gravity except you falling.

YAH-HAHAHAHA!(devilar laugh) checkmate!!! adding a gamerule for the end? cheating? maybe i generated a world without cheats, now i cant go to the end? ohonoho. what if i generate a normal world with cheats, disable this gamerule (/gamerule gravityavailable false), then teleport to a still non generated part of my world, then set this gamerule to true again? KA-BOOM! {atomic lag incoming, dear citizens please head to the nearst shelters...}. you may say: ok, i retreat. this gamerule is always false and turning it would affect blocks and its optional, so you can go to the end. now can you tell me in which worlds i can set this gamerule to true? only super-flat! so, at the last point, your idea is only useful for some superflat worlds which doesnt have any point on map making. you died!

(oh, and can you explain about liquids? i need more explain EVEN you retreat)

i count your silence as retreat.you lose. your idea is not useful.

(also, imagine i made a very HUGE structure that only connected to the earth with one pillar. then if i break even one block of that pillar, KA-BOOOOOMMMMM! minecraft would crash, and the world may become useless.)

Well I know for a fact in some way it could work and I am not being silent I was just busy. It would work and I don’t know if you live in America, but we have freedom of speech here... can ya pronounce it? And the end would be in space and space does not have gravity lol. And liquids would not float seriously. And no if you broke one block of the pillar it would not fall. My idea is NOT useless but reality. And if the pillar was only one block, then the next block would fall into the space of the block broken and I know someday Mojang will consider this. I’m not done lol so... yea.
