When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Yea, I was surprised to see the water bucket flop out into the cauldron too.

If this feature is added, it could open up a lot of doors for Redstone users.

Not just movable memory but memory in general. T flip flops are either loud or slow, they're never elegant, and this would fix that.

They could be filled and emptied by buckets and bottles. With bottles you can use this to count to 3

I really like this idea. Rain fiils up cauldrens, making a very useful rain detector for those who live underground. But emptying the cauldren to reset the detector must be done by hand. It woulds be nice to be able to fully automate this. Not to mention being able to move liquids in a "piping" system instead of one bucket at a time.

Was trying to make an auto-refiller so I could undye a bunch of shulker boxes and it turns out that this feature somehow wasn't in the game already.

You could also use it to make automatic rain collectors to fill up all your water bottles and buckets! Hope this suggestion gets some recognition!

I was really surprised this wasn't already a feature. I was trying to make a fully automatic lava farm in 20w48a and the bucket just plopped into the lava and burnt.

Just came here to post this as an idea and found this. With new dripstone features, it would be really good for an auto lava bucket farm.

You didn’t really explain the idea in the description, but I can get what you mean and it would be very useful with the new dripstone lava cauldrons in the snapshots.

This would be useful for lava farming as of the Caves and Cliffs update.

Like others, I also think it would be fantastic for lava farms.

Would love to make an infinitely refueling furnace

With recent snapshot updates showing more and more uses for cauldrons, I also agree that this idea should be implemented!

I am shocked this isn't in the game already, it frankly seems lazy for the devs to have not implemented this already

Seeing as that cauldrons can already fill bottles with water from cauldrons, it seems obvious that you should be able to fill up a bucket as well when the cauldron is full. Like other people, I was surprised when I found out that it didn't already work.

Kinda surprised this hasnt been added as a feature yet, as with the 1.17 update this feature could allow for lava farms for super smelters, as well as powder snow farms

With 1.17 adding a lot of features for the cauldron, this feature becomes neccesary

if this gets implemented dispensers should also be able to use bottles on cauldrons

With the addition of more uses for cauldrons, the time has come Mojang/Microsoft. Please :)

We definitely need this now since cauldrons can be filled with lava using the dripstone. For automatic furnaces

yes PLEASE. I was so excited to make a lava farm that fed lava buckets into a super smelter with the caves and cliffs update, I was really disappointed to find out you couldn't use dispensers with buckets on full cauldrons.

The dispenser will scoop the lava then throw the bucket away?

YES!!! Especially with the new Renewable lava in 1.17. Imagine the automatic Smelteries you could build with this simple feature. You can have your dripstone lava farm connected to an array of furnaces for infinite fuel.

Before anyone says it's cheating. Dude, the amount of buckets you're gonna need for this thing is gonna be insane. Besides, I'm already doing that in my world manually.

With this mechanic In Minecraft: Java Edition We could do compact flip-flops, automatics cauldrons, collect lava from farms.

Imagine how much high density memory could be made for redstone circuits, this is going to be as high density as it gets

It honestly feels strange that this isn't a feature already. It seems like a logical extension of bucket behaviour in cauldrons, and would be incredibly useful (as well as making cauldrons more useful).

This MUST be a feature! Imagine building Redstone-Computers with this feature! Everything is going to be a lot easier!

Please add this! It would be such a simple feature but make all sorts of redstone things way easier and more interesting

I was trying to make a fully auto lava farm when I found out it doesn’t work. I wish Mojang can add this feature soon.

yeah baby! Auto Lava-ing is my primary use case (when caldron fills: move dispenser into position, load with bucket, fill bucket from caldron, move hopper under dispenser to grab full bucket and pass to unmoving dispenser chain, then move now empty dispenser and hopper back to home position)

just like so many people here, i was *shocked* to discover my bucket simply ejected into lava. this is a HUGE oversight you guys. mojang really needs to add this feature
