Powered blocks to disctretely emit red light/particles.

Today it's difficult to debug Redstone because it's difficult to know which blocks are powered and which are not. Not even the debug menu can show if for example a block of cobblestone is powered or not. It would make things a whole lot easier if any block, stone/cobble/etc, would somehow show that it is powered by emitting a red light or similar. At least, an entry in the debug menu would be helpful...

    I had been thinking of this, and had thought of them having a redstone powered animated texture layered on top of the original texture, that would be less laggy than using particles.
