The Ocean monument feels a bit lackluster in terms the loot that you actually retrieve. While I do like the sponge, the Guardians seem like they should actually be guarding something of "real life" value. Hence, my suggestion the "Storm Pearl."
The Storm pearl contains a literal storm, which works well with the trident. All of it's abilities will still work despite the lack of rain or water, when the storm pearl is held in the off-hand. Combining the pearl with a shield in an anvil would grant you the "Storm shield" which would work the same way, but as a shield. The shield breaks, the pearl remains in tact.
Villagers are also enchanted by the Storm pearl, and will follow the player who holds it (just like a cow follows wheat). This would allow for easier movement of vilagers, if the player decides to actually take on the challenge of the ocean monument.
