Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

More Foods!: Pineapple/Sliced Pineapple!

Important: This topic is split into multiple parts and each part will describe each of the new food items that I came up with. This will tell me if you want this to be in game or not.

There should be more food in Minecraft and more new ingredients for those new food items. Honestly these new food items that I am announcing in all the articles will change Minecraft FOREVER (echo in background)! That is if Mojang decides to add them in. Some of these new food items will have special properties that will be discussed in some of the other separated articles. There will be a list of the other foods, ingredients, biomes, and mobs that you can also search up if you’re interested.

For this topic it is Pineapple!

 

Pineapple

Food Points: raw(?), sliced(?)

Properties: Pineapple will do 2 hearts of damage when eaten raw, but when put in a Crafting slot it will turn into 5 Sliced Pineapple that won’t deal damage when eaten.

    Supreme idea but where should you get the pineapples from? Trees or shrubs or in chests or anything else?

    I posted on Durian for the Jungle biome and just thought of there should be more things in the Jungle Biome and immediately thought of Pineapples and found this. Pineapples definitely should spawn naturally in Jungle Biomes, Also it should have it's own plant similar to the Berry Bush where you take damage when you touch it.

    Maybe modify the crafting recipe of the Pineapple akin to a Honey bottle where the output yields Pineapple slices and only the Pineapple crown remains. You can use that crown to grow new Pineapple plants.

    I don't know if this would be possible but what if the Pineapple growth will slow down after every harvest if it is not in the Jungle biome. Based on my experience for having an on-the-job-training, they tend to cycle pineapple fields after a certain number of harvests, the pineapple yield size becomes smaller and smaller.

    So in Minecraft, just make them initially grow slightly faster than normal crops then it maxes out to be 4x slower than the normal crop growth tick.

    This is a great idea! I think you should be able to make pina coladas too, using a pineapple and a coconut. A pina colada could heal six hunger.

    There is a thing called Piñatex. It's a type of Leather made from Pineapple leaves. This item could serve as an alternate way to make leather. It would be usefull for those who want to traverse the Snowy Biome without freezing and still be free of guilt.

    Could maybe add Pineapple tarts?

    It could serve as resource for food and/or armor.

    Growing in the jungle Biome would work thematically.

    Maybe some seeds can be found in chests.

    Pineapples would be the best new plant. It would introduce a new plant/crop that would act a lot like melons and pumpkins where it stays after harvesting. I think that a whole pineapple shouldn't do damage but provide less hunger points than slicing it up or cooking it. Could be sliced using an axe.
