Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Slime Chunk Detector

 Slimes are somewhat of a rare mob in Minecraft. There are two places where they can spawn: one is the Swamp biome and the other is any Slime Chunk. The problem is, people need a lot of slimeballs. A lot of slimeballs to craft sticky pistons, leads, slimeblocks, etc. . 

Making a slime farm based on slime chunks is rather easy, but the hard part is finding a slime chunk. The only way to find a slime chunk in Minecraft without external software is to hope to find a slime while underground, and then approximating the size of the chunk to make a farm.

This can be very tedious and leads to people using third party software to find their slime chunks and mine them out. It would be great if we could have some sort of slime chunk detector in Minecraft, that recognizes whether the chunk you're standing on can spawn Slimes. The crafting recipe could require a slimeball, so you would need to find a slime before you crafted the item.

    I would suggest another way for easing the task of findind the slime chunks: this is to make some blocks inside slime chunks somekinda slimy. Probably only inside the slime spawn y-levels. These could be done with some adjusted texture to those usual blocks (green slime above the usual texture). These could be either separate blocks (slimy versions), or the original ones in terms of drop. Probably having a chance to drop a slime ball on destruction, like with gravel and flint.

    AFAIK currently the only relatively reliable way to find a slime chunk on purpose is to dig a huge area in the proper Y-level and wait for the slimes to spawn occasionally. I find this to be a too labor intensive for such an essential item as a slime balls.

    Adding slimy blocks to slime chunks would ease the task of finding the slime chunk.

    I suggest adding a new Item to help find slime chunks. 

    • A compass surrounded in slimeballs within the crafting table (requires you to find Slimes in order to find their "nest" or "den")
    • Compass points to the (northeast?) corner of the chunk. It will guide you to the closest one.
    • The item itself could look like a slimey compass or something similar.
    • Perhaps a new block could be found in slime chunks as well. "Slimystone" No variants necessary. If that is desired, I am for it. It can also be crafted with a slimeball and a stone.

    I really think having a way to find Slime Chunks in game would be graciously amazing!

    either a a place on the debug screen or a slime cave like they are suggesting

    Atm no one is allowed large building projects on servers the seed is not given out on, so that people can control weather large projects are allowed it can have a /gamerule toggle and when you set up the world you can toggle it off or on
