Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Aye. It's a shame there's no mention of them going this route, what with Bamboo being the newest Tree Type n'all...
We should be able to use it similarly to the others.

Check out this post here for some amazing ideas someone is suggesting for Minecraft: https://old.reddit.com/r/minecraftsuggestions/comments/9zg0xv/bamboo_plank_set_thatch_bamboo_torches_and_many/

It would be a bit overpowered though as you can make an auto farm

Autofarm construction should never be a reason to add or refuse an idea.

How about a bamboo canteen for water.

    Bamboo hearts to eat.

    Bamboo chairs to sit.

    Bamboo benches to sit.

Bamboo Book Shelves to store books in.

Bamboo Armor Stands to put your armor when they're not in use.

Bamboo Item Frame to decorate the place with.

Bamboo Coffee Table to put small stuff and a lantern on.

And a Bamboo Table to put food on to serve your guests for a feast.

It would also be great to have the Scaffolding colour as a plank. It's a light colour like birch combined with a darker colour of oak almost, so would be great to have the plank version of that colour. Could be crafted from bamboo or if not, another block.

Agreed. I live in Asia, and bamboo is a versatile item for making houses.. and believe it or not.. as a food item too! Bamboo jutes are used in cooking stews, and for the Chinese, making it as a salad ingredient (my grandmother makes delicious bamboo pickles as an appetizer.) So there, Mojang... please consider. :)

    please add to Java Minecraft
approximately 1.14.4 doors of bamboo and hatch of him.
because bamboo is useless, they can feed pandas, do scaffolding, and this is fuel. EVERYTHING !!! I very much hope that you listen to me and implement it into the game. thank

I got an idea that I've been thinking about alot lately
    What about bamboo spears?
It would act like the trident but it would have some different things to it
It would have a faster wind up but less damage it would also have it's own enchantments to it, it would also have the loyalty enchantment and give the trident a new enchantment sorta like a trade off
The new enchantment for the trident could have it so when you fire it in water or rain it would create a small wave that would deal some damage but also push mobs back to give you some space between you and the mob.
For enchantments for a bamboo spear could be something like grapple, when you throw a bamboo spear it creates this rope you can climb on to get from high places and could also act sorta like a chain for mobs it hits keeping then in place until you pick up
    Another
I also think there should be some crafting recipes to make it valuable so you just dont throw it away once you get a trident
Like a little bamboo quiver that'll have it's own litte inventory to place your spears or a little handle that'll allow you to throw multiple spears at once
I know that some of these ideas sound ridiculous but the bamboo spear alone if a great idea if you ask me
Itd add some variety and a new weapon/tool to the game
Not to mention I think itd be great for starting off if you spawn near a bamboo forest

I think that the bamboo planks and wood items would look great with sort of a green color, similar to birch, which is slightly yellow, acacia, which is orange, and jungle wood, which has a pink tint. I also want to note that I love this idea, because bamboo is actually used as flooring in modern houses as a more environmentally friendly alternative to normal hardwood, as well as in Asia where it's used for all sorts of things.

ABSOLUTELY. I was creating a pagoda in a jungle with bamboo and I thought about how useful it would be to have some sort of bamboo plank. I thought maybe you would have to craft it with 9 bamboo though to make it balanced.

    Bamboo planks, yes please!

As has been said before, crafting recipe should be 9 bamboo.

Colour should of course be the same yellowish of scaffolding. I feel like that's a wood colour that's missing from the current set of wood types available (as of 1.16).

As for concerns about this breaking the game by making wood auto-farmable: it wouldn't. Wood is already afk-farmable, just takes a lot of skill and effort to build one. And other things that used to not be farmable get a farming option all the time without it breaking the game. That's a necessary process - As minecraft adds fatures, players need to be given free time to explore those, by removing the need to perform menial tasks such as chopping wood from the first day all the way past the end.

Also, bamboo isn't immediately available on most worlds, and even if you start in a bamboo forest, all the other stuff you need for an auto farm still needs to be gathered, so it wouldn't even change the early game progression at all. But on all the worlds without bamboo at spawn, it would make finding bamboo a much more rewarding achievement, because of the wood farming option it would open up.

Finally, this is another one of those times where it might be appropriate to have real-life concerns influence Minecraft development, as has happened before when the Parrots' food of choice was changed from cookies to seeds. It's been mentioned before that bamboo is used extensively as a wood-analogue building material in Asia.

1.19 would be the perfect time to promote bamboo to a proper, complete wood type! The addition of yet another reddish wood type in the form of Mangrove wood highlights how much a yellowish wood type is still missing from the game.

Bamboo stick can make a bamboo blocks and it can be stipped, making stripped bamboo block. The bamboo block and be converted into bamboo sticks again but not the stripped bamboo block. Image jungle villages with them. And hay block without the bands roof and hay carpet on top of them. Also bamboo and stripped bamboo doors and carpet

I would love to see bamboo and sugar cane have 9x9 storage blocks, like how wheat can be made into hay bales and dried kelp makes the kelp block. You could then use these as decorative blocks. Having one for both bamboo and sugar cane would give players two different shades of green/yellow to play with, adding more texture and dimension to builds.

It'd be really nice to have bamboo fences, gates, slabs, etc, but if Mojang doesn't want to add 6-10 new blocks (even more if bamboo had separate yellowy dried variants and fresh green variants), just adding storage blocks that could also be used decoratively would be a nice compromise. Bamboo as it is feels incomplete.
