With the introduction of pandas, Mojang have been toying with the idea of gene. For those who don't know, panda possess different gen types which determines it's variant when breeding. Whether it or not they intend to do a breeding overhaul or prepare for a mob update, I do not know. If they continue to entertain this concept however, I have a few suggestions. Foxes are a new mob coming later in the update that has a divide might soon spark. Many players feel the mob should reside in the wild, sometimes hostile. Other find appeal at the prospect of a new tamable mob. I feel many would be let down and betrayed if the mob is revealed to be untamable. But I also feel there might be a bit of backlash for those who believe foxes should remain a wild animal. To solve this dilemma, I suggest you apply your new gene system to the foxes. In real life, Russian researchers have been isolating a "friendly gene" within foxes for decades. This method can be perfectly mirror with the new gene system. Players can breed foxes until it develops a friendly gene from which they can tame. In real life foxes grow closer to being common household pets with time. And some already keep non-domestic foxes as pets. Owning a pet such as these are legal albeit expensive. Mojang, I encourage you to keep exploring your gene system as I feel it may yield some amazing gameplay mechanics. Several mobs beside the foxes may benefit from this as well. I hope you consider all made points and I wish you the best of luck
