Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Mortar and Pestle

I think there should be a mortar and pestle in Minecraft. A mortar and pestle is used to grind herbs and mix things. An also used for cooking. it could make dyes, mix dyes together, grind ingredients, and could even help make items that give you certain effects like potions.

    This would be great for use with cooking -- since potion-making is already a thing with the brew station/cleric job site, the smoker is already associated with meat/the butcher job site, and dyes are associated with the cauldron/leathermaker and with the loom/shepherd. Cooking over a camp fire is humankind's earliest food-cooking method but the world went crazy with the advent of the spice trade. This could be tied in with foraging as an update.
