Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Bamboo block , stairs , slabs , fences , trapdoor and door

With the newest bamboo added into the game in the snapshot and beta version of minecraft , i think it need a block that we could use for building with stairs and slabs. In fact we could go further and add fences , fences gates and even door and trapdoor.

This add could add a greenish building block and fences for building and the fences could also use for asian building and also the fences could be used for custom tree lovers.

For the door and slabs , they could add a new door for more building style.

    I believe the exact opposite. As a builder we could use bamboo blocks as a decorative block that could give more character to builds in jungles or builds made from clay dirt or a nice flooring for hunter or desert stile builds

    I have here to Agree its a cool idea i have so many Bamboo in my chests it should be bambo blocks/Stairs to build some cool houses/buildings there they should also a bamboo slingshot or something like a to trow darts or arrows with a bambo

    Bamboo block made of 9 bamboo that can smelt 4.25 items so you can store it more efficiently please.

    Voted! Was searching before posting myself. Also, paper and bamboo doors and wall panels (thin like doors, but not openable) would be cool.

    Similarly, stick blocks would be nice for storage and building.

    Shouldn't we get both bamboo walls and bamboo fences? Bamboo has so much uses IRL but in minecraft it has none

    Also two variants, dried and non dried, so we get both green stuff and brown stuff

    If we are going for the look of a bamboo block, then green is not it.  Bamboo fades from green to a more lighter color which in the OP's case would make an excellent building block especially for asian themes

    To be honset even if they add a bamboo block with texture bambo not binded by string and they add slabs and stairs that can have sideways bamboopices it wold be really good

    My idea is that four pieces of bamboo can be made into a bamboo block. After that the bamboo blocks can be made into tools but instead of being like wooden tools, they mine faster and are stronger, and instead of using sticks in the recipe, more bamboo sticks in their place.

    I was going to say something similar, however I feel like one block should be made of 9 bamboo planks, one bamboo plank can be placed like carpet-covering the whole block face, but can also be placed as walls. one bamboo plank would be crafted with 8 bamboo and one string, as both a pretty easy to obtain. the bamboo block can then be used as any other type of wooden plank.

    Love this idea and was just getting ready to try and make the same suggestion! There's really not enough blocks in the green pallet, and also there's basically no use for bamboo currently beyond smelting or making sticks. I'd LOVE to get to build with it

    It's very weird that bamboo fences aren't in the game, given how easy bamboo is to lash together into fences in real life, and how iconic it is as a building material. It really feels like a missing or unfinished feature. In fact, the first time I encountered bamboo in-game, I even tried to craft it into a fence and was surprised when I couldn't.

    Bamboo walls and bamboo slabs or trapdoors to use as flooring/roofing, or bamboo doors would be nice but aren't essential. But fences? It's so strange we can't make them already and would really help with jungle builds.

    I do think a full-sized bamboo block might feel strange, as bamboo itself is so much thinner than a standard block. People have suggested bamboo bundles, but there is no similar block like bundles of sticks in the game. Or perhaps there could be a "bamboo basket".

    I agree with this as well as the comments below that suggest two gradients, green and yellow/tan. 

    Blocks could include the basic block, wall/fence, doors, and trap doors. I don't know if I would recommend slabs or stairs, but even without those, you could be looking at a potential of at least 4 new blocks with two different colors.

    They could be made from 9 bamboo - cut into shapes - somewhat tube like - decoration and water transport.

    Great idea! I'd also love if there could be Dried Bamboo Blocks that could be used in Jungle Villages, and made with smelted bamboo
