Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Soundproofing block

Rushing water, Villagers, and the sound of minecarts can get annoying. So I prepose a block that prevents sound from being heard, like a block of the material earplugs are made of (come to think of it, that could be a head item), or something different, like wool or clay.. It also comes in all the different colors, and aren't too vibrant.It is craftable, maybe out of a new material or wool and clay.

    I would like to see this done! Originally, I was going to post a suggestion for soundproof glass, but that might be too modern. I like your idea of a block that is made of material similar to earplugs. I think that's foam and/or rubber. It seems less like it's man-made compared to soundproof glass.
    I would like this so I can mute redstone contraptions, maybe by surrounding an area with the soundproof block. What you've posted is over a year old, but I hope developers will revisit and reconsider this idea of yours.

    Making wool a block that muffles/cancels sound is a great idea! Especially because the upcoming update (1.17) has a feature in which wool can be used to block a skulk sensor from recieving vibrations. It would make sense to add this feature.

    I feel like "aesthetically", this could be a rather easy adaptation of the current carpet block. Basically flip carpet on it's edge so it may be applied to walls. Then incorporate/adapt the current mechanic that "turning away" from sound sources utilizes.

    Blocking animal noises would be great too. Sometimes you want all your pets/animals around your house but would rather not hear the constant barking/meowing/mooing/neighing/slime hopping all the time when you're inside your minecraft home

    Please make wool provide soundproofing, it would be pretty intuitive.
