Improving rain sounds

I feel that the normal rain sounds are just as heavy as in a thunderstorm, while i believe it is possible IRL, I think it would be quite an improvement to ambience if regular rain had a lighter pitter patter noise and just the thunderstorms have their current rain sound. This should make living in places that have rain more tolerable as it won’t be an assault on your ears every time it happens and make thunderstorms sound like the rain is heavier than regular rain if that makes sense?

  I agree! and the regular rain storms, with no thunder and lightning, should have lighter blue rain.

  I would love some more aesthetic rain sound effects, the current sound is jarring and almost painful, it propagates a range of hearing that's very uncomfortable, this usually prompts me to mute rain entirely but I otherwise love having the weather.

  Maybe the game should have a rain intensity value, but is always maxed out during a thunderstorm

  This effects how loud it is, how much there is and the colour of the sky

  the current rain textures and sounds would be the heaviest
