Parity means making features behave consistently across different Minecraft editions, most commonly between Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. Use this category to discuss released features that exist in both versions of the game but work differently. Please note that bugs are not parity issues and should be reported separately.

I like the way the shadows in Bedrock can effect mobs. Though If Bedrock shadows were ported to Java I'd want an option to change the number of edges on the polygon.

Maybe the shadows could be player shaped and point in the opposite direction of any light sources near the player, similar to real life.  There could be multiple shadows if there are multiple light sources.  They would cast onto mobs like in bedrock but decrease in opacity the higher you go on java.

I Think they should just make the shadows pixelated or remove them. The current ones are un-minecrafty.

Personally I like the look of the Java ones better, but I enjoy the features of the bedrock ones, such as casting shadows on entities and blocks, and sloping down a block, better.

If you go far away from an entity in Bedrock the shadow gets smaller in Java the shadow goes invisible
