I would use a raspberry pi with bedrock. I really just want a cross-platform raspberry pi 4 powered server.

This would be one of the best ideas for them to do now.

Exactly what I wanted - I have a spare Raspberry Pi 4 B with 8 GB RAM - plenty of processing power to go around, but it doesn't work. I'll just have to stick with Nukkit then...

Bedrock clearly runs well on ARM, the server software should absolutely be compiled for ARM!

Not sure they actually read these or take anything into consideration that people WANT, but I voted as well

With MacOS now running on ARM with Apple Silicon, a dedicated server binary would be fantastic to run the M1+ hardware.

    I WOULD HIGHLY APPRECIATE THAT!!!

That would be very great, because than You are able to easily make a Little bedrock Server at home with low Energy-consumption.

Voted. But .... people, I hate to break it down to you... this probably won't happen.

Put the obvious incompetent (just take look how large their team has grown over the years, and how slow things/bugs are getting fixed still) aside, they just don't want you to host your own server.

After all, if every kid in the world can easily setup a 24/7 Minecraft Pi at their home to save their precious memories of their childhood for just few bucks of electricity per year, then who would ever pay for Realms?

"You want to play with your friends? That starts at $3.99/m. We also change the network protocol between versions from time to time so third-party server programs stops working on our demand"

The most funny thing is, the server function is already included the game, that's how you can play the game with your friends if they are in the same local network as you.

They just don't want you to have a dedicated server, that's it! That's the reason. Minecraft is not a game for gamer as it used to be. So wake up people.

I have tried using QEMU on ARM64 device to emulate x86-64 CPU to run BDS, it works but it was extremly slow, as if I am playing a foreign server rather than localhost.

This is gonna be so convenient! ARM has a great potential in energy efficiency

Why Mojang didn't release ARM version bedrock server? Arm is major cpu architecture, ex) RPI, Android, Apple M1 etc...

I would love to have this! I have a tiny TV box which serves no purpose anymore and instead of disposing it and wasting resources, it would make for a great tiny Minecraft Server instead of the "big PC" it is running at the moment. Running the x64 Binary on an ARM device through QEMU is too slow to be useful, so a static binary for Ubuntu on ARM would be absolutely wonderful :-)

This is so sad, we are almost in 2022 and it would be nice if I could re-purpose my broken screen smartphone as a bedrock server... c'mon guys give us a chance!

Being able to host bedrock servers on devices like the Raspberry Pi would be a huge enabler.

The Raspberry Pi (as most Arm SOCs) is incredibly energy efficient as when compared to an x86 counterpart. Compiling and providing a binary that will run on something like Ubuntu or Debian, would be absolutely amazing. Creating an official docker image would be even better, but the community can take care of that as long as the binary is provided.

This would be awesome. Minecraft community consists of creators and hosting own server on some diy board is just the thing we want!

As ARM Devices grow in popularity both on homes and in cloud servers, this would be EXTREMELY useful.
As someone that already runs infrastructure on multiple ARM-based servers, I can't overstate how great of an Idea this is.

Also, If the main game already runs on ARM devices why wouldn't the server version do too.

I am looking for this too. I wanted to set up a bedrock dedicated lan server so my kids could play together on their tablets.  I wanted to run it in a docker container on my NanoPi R4S router. Since there is no ARM64 build, I have to run it on my workstation which is less than ideal and not on 24/7.

ARM support really needs to happen for Bedrock server!

Java server supports and runs great on ARM. Minecraft runs on ARM based devices, where you can host a local server...

Surely it can't be that hard to make a dedicated version? I don't really want to have to emulate x64...

'Realms' is all I can think that is stopping this, happy to be proved wrong :-)
