Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Question: How can a Magnet destroy a mob/player/item?

I would like to see a tool that would help find buried ores that may be a few blocks away buried behind other blocks like diorite, granite or stone.  If you dig a path in a cave, the tool would let you know if there were any ores to mine in the direction you could be looking.  This could be a special helmet or a handheld tool.

This could also be useful for finding buried treasure chests hidden in sand forts.

How about if a player is wearing iron armor then they will be pulled towards the magnet?
Or if they're wearing Iron Boots they could walk up a line of magnet blocks like a ladder, or stick to a magnetic ceiling?

Currently this is too op of an item for it only costing a few iron and wool and it able to destroy mobs.

Let's simplify this. When Lightning Strikes a fully weathered copper block, or a lightning rod above the weathered block, then that block becomes magnetized. magnetism can spread to all fully weathered stairs, slabs, and blocks by a magnetized block touching a normal weathered one.

Magnetized Weathered Copper Blocks would attract all iron items to them. Mobs or Players walking on these cannot jump and they can only move very slowly, BUT, they can walk on the side and upsidedown of the block instead of falling. You can also levitate up to these blocks if you have an iron helmet and iron boots on.
