Xbox controls on PC

I have a wired xbox 360 controller and I would like to use it on my laptop to play minecraft. I can't though because they didn't add xbox controls to minecraft. So now I have this controller that I want to use for minecraft but I can't because of this. It annoys me how they added a touchscreen mode but not a mode for xbox controllers that you plug into your PC. Please add xbox controls to Minecraft on PC!

    I find it hard to understand how Microsoft can be associated with Minecraft, yet I can't use an Xbox controller to play Java edition on my PC.  How is it possible that Minecraft does not support the controller from a PC???? This is beyond ridiculous.  If I could play Java edition on the Xbox...I would.  But I can't do that either.  How hard can it possibly be to set up Java edition to work with an Xbox controller on a PC????  Infuriating.

    i completely agree!! i was trying to do this earlier as i prefer playing on a controller in comparison to keyboard. I find it bizarre that a two things in relation to Microsoft do not work in harmony. AND THIS FIRST POST WAS OVER 2 AND A HALF YEARS AGO 

    I was trying to find a way to solve this but there is NOTHING in relation to microsoft about using a controller.

    There's a way to do this via steam, but nothing here :(

    It's such an accessibility issue! Using wasd and arrows hurts after awhile, controllers are literally made to be comfortable to hold. I have early arthritis, and it genuinely holds me up from playing as often as I want because my HANDS HURT TO MUCH TO PLAY MINECRAFT!!!
