Updrafts

Updrafts are a current of wind blowing upward. If an entity enters the updraft it will be launched into the air. Updrafts are 20 blocks tall and can be naturally found throughout the nether but can be made by a player.

How are they formed?

If tall grass is lit by a flit and steel or flame bow, it and other tall grass(in a 5 block radius) become updrafts.

How to get rid of an updraft?

There are three ways to destroy an updraft:

1. Place a block on the base of the updraft
2. Break the block beneath the updraft
3. Bottle the base of the updraft
