Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Obsidian Tools

Tools made of obsidian it would have the same mining ability of stone but with 3 times the usage of diamond

    In real life, obsidian blades can be even sharper than steel, but are very brittle and break easily. What I propose is that obsidian tools could have at least the effectiveness as iron tools, or possibly even better than diamond tools. The catch is that obsidian tools would have a durability comparable to gold tools, maybe even worse. Maybe another gimmick they could add is that if a player uses a critical attack with an obsidian tool, it uses double or maybe even triple the damage, forcing the player to switch up their attack strategy when using obsidian.

    Obsidian can be shattered into incredibly sharp pieces suitable for tools and arrowheads, but it is no stronger than stone.

    I'd love to be able to get obsidian shards by mining obsidian with a steel pick-axe. The obsidian shards could be used to make all obsidian tools (not armor) with the damage/ speed of diamond, but the durability of wood. Also they would not make obsidian drop an obsidian block, just more shards. Also, shards could be used to make obsidian tipped arrows.
