Custom linked nether portals

Make a portal in the over world And place a beacon on top but do not enter, Then place a renamed nether star In it
And do the same in the nether
But the nether star needs to be named the same as the one you did in the over world

When you do this it will link the 2 portals together and will allow you to travel even greater distance .. killing 4 wither bosses after collecting 12 wither skulls is not easy . This will allow multiple portals linked ..
Do this for far distance to travel
example over world is at 0.60.0
And the nether portal is at 1,000. 40 .-500
But they are linked up

    I do like this idea, but perhaps for portals from one place in the over world to another.  The portal needs some revision, though.  Right now it is too complicated.  I suggest that it be made out of shulker boxes in the shape of a nether portal.  All the shulker boxes have to be named the same.  If an identical portal is built, nether portal particles will appear in the center of it, and the portals will be linked.  When an Ender pearl is thrown through it, the player teleports through, but that is the only way to go through it.

    Love the idea of custom linking - it would be like a combination lock keeping other players from using it unless they knew the blocks!

    Since biomes are so large, I'd love to be able to travel back and forth between, say, a Jungle biome and my home base using linked portals.

    Love the idea. Personally, I would be happy with the ability to travel both directions out of the nether. It is frustrating finding a woodland mansion 10000 blocks from the spawn point and only being able to come halfway home using nether portals
