Tamed animal ownership transfer

There are alot of tamable creatures in a survival world with no way to share them with friends. I think it would add to the smp experience the ability to transfer ownership of a pet. Perhaps nametags could be used similar to the jeb_, dinnerbone, and johnny tags. Once a player has tamed a pet like a wolf, cat, or parrot they then would name it "Transfer Ownership". Having a second tag saying "New owner" in the hotbar of the graciouse new pet owner who then names it.

    Or they could add a method to select certain players that can share control of your pets.

    It would make pet/animal shops on servers SO much easier. At the moment, I spend a few hours attaching leads to wolves, parrots, ocelots (the hardest) etc. Taking them to the shop and caging them.
    This causes the odd problem with cats. Because I can't exactly "sell" a specific colour cat?
    On friend just bought 8 cats to get her black one.
    Maybe crafting a leash and a name together? Leasing the pet, and "lashing" them to a player, similar to a pole? Would be more user friendly than specific name tag lines.
    Perhaps while holding a leashed animal, you could click on other players, as "friendly." Or perhaps again to turn off that privilege. Either way, absolutely voted, and shared!

    Something must happen with the ability to untame an animal to set it free or transfer ownership.Maybe the offspring can be domesticated but not assigned to a specific owner.

    I think there should also be a way to get your dog back. If you give it a new owner, then there should be a way to get it back. Maybe a nametag that says "Ownership (Players name)? This could also be the way to give pets a new owner. Type in the chat bar Dog Name Ownership to Player Name. 

    Example: Fido Ownership to Dog_Lover
