Time set adjustment

I like this game but what i dont like is how fast it is to get night time because when i was building i didnt have enough time to get wood so i have to defend my house and survive please let it be night time after 5 or 6 minutes

    Um, first of all, the Minecraft day is 20 minutes (day and night included).  Making it 5 or 6 minutes would be drastically shortening it.  Second of all, I definitely do not want to change how long the day is.  It would mess up zombie sieges in villages, it would either make monsters too few or too many, and either the day would just drag on and on, or it would be over seemingly just after it started.
