Pitch to make rabbits tameable

So, in real life, rabbits make excellent companions. I myself have a pet rabbit and she is an absolute sweetheart! I noticed that in Minecraft, rabbits are non-tameable. Well, I think it would be a realistic and awesome idea to implement tameable rabbits into the game! Maybe using carrots or golden carrots as the food item to tame them with? It would be great to have another option when it comes to pets in-game. Thank you!

    Just lure a rabbit into a cage made of iron bars to have a pet rabbit.

    Rabbits were originally tameable.  I assume that they changed that for a reason.  Probably because a rabbit following you around is just going to get killed and serves no purpose.

    What would rabbits do? Maybe dig up rare seeds or something.

    I think this is a great Idea. The rabbits don't have to follow you all the time, they could be non-teliporting pets! This way your sweet bunny bunns can follow you on a nice walk, or just stay home. I used to have a pet rabbit too, and she followed me everywhere!

    Rabbits can perhaps have a chance to dig up some seeds or if the player is lucky a gold nugget ore a iron nugget.

    They could also be helpfully in raids by keeping away ravangers, as in one of the mincraft snapshots ravangers we're afraid of rabbits.

    They would also warn the player for hostile mobs by making a thump sound.

    If any mobs that are hostile to the rabbit but run away from the player, the rabbit could come to the player for reassurance.

    can we also have holland lop breeds and make it easier to get black and whit mini rex rabbits.

    and for ideas what they could do maybe some tamed ones could turn into killer rabbits when their owner is attacked and then turn back, or maybe they could have a feature like cats where they sleep on your bed and bring you items in the morning.

    edit: and can they have more interactions than foxes as they are more cuddly and loving.

    also why do dog owners get dog skins when rabbit owners don't even get tamable pets.

    They should totally be tameable, but they shouldn't follow you. What difference would it make then? Rabbits seem to be afraid of players normally, but tamed ones wouldn't. (Also, I'm not quite sure if either cats or dogs attack rabbits, but if they do, they wouldn't attack them if they were tamed rabbits.)

    Adding more skins to rabbits would be nice too! Like a spotted one!
