When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

drop lamp with renovated textures

  1. A drop lamp is a block that is solid until it is powered by any means of redstone.
  • When powered, it becomes sand and can fall; becoming a falling redstone block basically except it also applies a level 15 light. The redstone block powers anything it touches when it falls.
  • When it is powered again while falling: it would revert back to itself as a non powered solid block with no light.
  1. This can be useful for lots of red-stone contraptions:
  2. Making a door have sand fall powering the pistons and being un-powered at the time you want that sand to stay as a solid block and can push it(without falling) until powered again. 
  • Crafting

  1. When crafted, it yields 2 drop lamps: change glass to stained glass to get colored drop lamp. 
  • If the lighting engine ever gets updated: the light that is produced from each of these lamps would be colored by chosen colored lamp.

    The redstone drop lamp could be crafted with copper bulbs instead of glowstone, giving copper more uses.
