Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Use for the Dragon Egg

I'm not saying that it has to be hatched so you can train the dragon but there should be some kind of use for it.

    There already are two uses.  1. Decoration     2. It shows you killed the Ender dragon.

    @Bilbo_ Baggins it should have some gameplay purposes. Maybe placing it in the overworld triggers an event. Does anyone have ideas for what that event could be?

    Put this in the gameplay section.  Endermen might be drawn toward it.  For example, when an enderman teleports, it might teleport 3 blocks toward the dragon egg in addition to its regular teleportation.

    I’m with you! It’s kinda a cool trophy, but that’s what the dragon head is for! If you kill the Whither, you get a nether star, which is access to a super powerful beacon which is awesome! The enderdragon gives you access to the elytra and stuff, but how cool would it be for the egg to be hatchable and create a tameable dragon mount. Or maybe use it and a beacon and other major drops from other bosses (more bosses please!!!) and place them in a certain place to access a super boss!

    I mean, the obvious thing would be to use the egg to spawn another ender dragon. Perhaps editing the way the dragon can be re spawned right now to include the dragon egg. Then you get another egg as a reward. The problem is, if you lose the egg there is no way to get another...

    So the next thing is to hatch a pet dragon. It makes too much sense to ignore.


    Another option is that the egg interacts with endermen in some way. Endermen cannot hurt you while you hold the egg, something like that.

    The other thing ender related that comes to mind is teleporting, perhaps the egg is an infinite use ender pearl?

    It should grow up(feeding or just wait) then it should be rideable.

    I think ender dragon egg should only hatch in overworld and can go in nether but it can't go in the end ang can't destroy block. If fully grow it should be smaller so it can land in jungle biomes or other places that has many trees.

    I think you should be able to use the dragon egg on a beacon to start this mini post game quest. It could spawn 3 elemental dragons(obviously not as big as the end dragon) that you would have to track down and collect their loot which you can then use to summon a new mini boss that has multiple elemental attacks

    You can actually do a ritual to respawn the ender dragon by using the egg, watch a YouTube tutorial on how to do this.

    If you think about the Minecraft lore, it is the lone egg, and the last of her species. I would say it is better to just serve as a reminder of the dragon

    Right now, it has no use other than a trophy for showing that you beat Minecraft and for decoration. It'd be awesome if you could hatch the Dragon Egg into a baby Enderdragon so that you can ride it and stuff.

    nocth plz do somthing for the ender dragon egg like hacth it and to make dragon armor it will be cool and repopulate the ender dragon spechise like go to the deep end to make armor stronger than netherite deepnite should be the name of the material stronger than netherite the deepnite sword should do 345 attak damage it will be cool and costum dragon element like u click 2 times it will go to dragon costumyzer and u can chose ur favrout dragon element and for the best one is the lightning storm and thunder dragon u need 64 64 diamonds to get the egg and the dragon to reach 50 block high and 80 block wide it will be so cool all of ur dreams will come true

    I agree. The uses we have for the ender dragon aren't that useful, except for showing that you have defeated the ender dragon. My friend wants to hatch it.

    so to hacth it you need 6 blocks of gold 9 blocks of obsidian put the gold like the level 1 beacon 1 obsidian in the midle put 2 obsidian blocks on top of each other

    Me parece que para el huevo de dragón debería haber dos opciones 1. para poder incubarlo 2. para poder abrir un portal a una dimensión en la que solo hay dragones y pueden ser domesticados y hay diferentes tipos de dragón, ejemplo de la naturaleza, el fuego se congela, etc.

    I have a great idea: It could grant creative flight when placed on an active beacon. The beacon looses all its power, as long as the dragon egg stays there. The range of the effect depends on the power of the beacon (the size of the pyramid)
