Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Suspended ladders

I like how vines grow and hang in the air by themselves. So why can't ladders be hung in the air? It would make a cool impression of a rope ladder and could be used for various things such as tree houses. I know it makes sense for a ladder to be supported on walls, but let's face reality: ladders can be hung and they still work. Please add a hanging ladder function.

EDIT: Using a barrier is a great illusion but you can still touch the block. I'm saying that you can only touch the ladder.

    It can be done now. Either place them on barrier blocks or setblock or fill command them and there you go, floating ladders.

    /setblock can still work but if the block gets updated the ladder will be destroyed. This should definitely be implemented.

    I'm a year late, but maybe necro-ing this post will make more people notice it - Rope Ladders should totally exist in the game as the means to build more fun stuff, as the means to go caving (Cave Update feature, pog) or simply to go down from a high place, because rather than working like your typical ladders or scaffolding, they would be stacked down to descend a ravine or a treehouse.

    For the giant caves in the 1.17 update these ladders would be very usefull, so to avoid ugly pillars of blocks or scaffolding to go down a cave or escape one
