There are both pros and cons to the marketplace system.  Yes, Microsoft is making money with each item purchased.  However, these items are not required to enjoy the game.  They also support the people who make the content, which means they are more likely to make more and do any necessary updates.  The free system of Java relies on people putting a lot of time into something without being paid for it.

You can also apparently still download free content from other websites.

    1. It was mojang’s implementation. microsoft only gives offices and supplies for minecraft staff

    2. It isn’t a money sucking machine, yes, mc staff makes a fortune but alot of the them goes to the content creators because in java it was not possible to reward them with hardwork with the marketplace it is

    3. It’s the parents job to moderate children

    4. Minecraft is the same game but only with more features you can ignore the store button and minecraft will play totally normal

I agree, the Mc store is very bad. i Spent $10 worth of MineCoins and got a map with it, and the map was awful. I could have made a better map and addon than that. (It is called "City Life") And in Legacy Console, There were MashUp packs for $3, containing skins, a world, and a texture pack. they were pretty fun, not going to lie. but now we have overpriced microtransactions, with awful maps for $10. The map I'm Working on is so much better and it will be downloadable for free, so we don"t need the store. Microtransactions are really for a free mobile game, and although Minecraft Bedrock is supposed to be a mobile game, Its sad that the most powerful console in the world, the Xbox One X, is running a buggy game made for phones and tablets.

Minecraft is one of the few paid mobile game with SOOOOOOOOOOO much microtransations. It shows the marketplace when you load up the game on the title screen

The marketplace is fantastic and can’t wait to see it get even better. Game development is expensive and beyond most people’s understanding. And a child shouldn’t be able to make purchases without an adults password.

The prices should definitely be lowered but I don't think microtransactions should be removed entirely. The revenue percentage that Mojang takes from the sales is probably to regain the $2.5 billion that Microsoft spent to buy the company, and hopefully prices will go down once they make this back.

Also, the marketplace isn't the traditional implementation of "microtransactions" because usually that implies that you're buying a consumable item. Yes, minecoins are consumable, but for permanent DLC, not things like revivals and time skips like in other games. I think it's fine; the prices should just be lowered a bit.

This was a game about building and exploring, now you can do the same, but with a minuscule price of 1200 minecoins plus  an 800 minecoin fee if you want the cheaply made skins to come with it!

microtransactions should only be for free games and not for games you paid for.

also, microsoft and microtransaction start with the same letters

So you want console players to not be able to get any content, and creators to have to work for free, not being able to make content full time? Also, there's already many free maps and skins, and the marketplace is 100% optional. Nothing like what EA does

Mojang/Microsoft need to be able to make money.

Be grateful that Mojang listens. Most games do not have a suggestion box and Mojang actually wants contributions from the gamers. Microsoft didn't change anything just offices. They didn't do what EA did and monetize.

I think Minecraft should Keep the microtransactions. Microtransactions creates a steady flow of money and they're helping marketplace creators. This is not something EA would publish. EA would publish something much worse. I think Microsoft and Mojang handle microtransactions better than any other company.

I legitimately hate the marketplace, seriously, we should still have THE ABILITY to get things for free, Even if its harder, and also, how is there so much garbage on the marketplace, but legitimately good maps cannot get onto it.

I agree with this, especially with the server side of this problem... *cough *cough, Pixel Paradise. There is nothing worse than a young child nagging to use his/her mother's credit card to purchase stupid ranks and upgrades that mean nothing. Really Mojang, are you seeing this bullcrap? The more I think of it, the more I realize how much I actually hate Microsoft's influence on Minecraft. This gives Bedrock such a bad name and it's why this edition keeps getting bashed by the Java community. And if they dare do this to Java Edition, I swear, I'll start playing Minetest for the rest of my gaming life to substitute Minecraft permanently. Minetest is free, open source, and most of all... not money-hungry like Microsoft

I like the marketplace, you need to pay ik, but it’s easy and also you help and support more the marketplace creators. And also the marketplace does not quit you the option to free download in the internet webs, it just for a better place to buy items for minecraft for everyone (especially for consoles)

the issue is the system to tell if a map/addon/whatever is good can be (easily) botted if the creator is rich. if $5 pack gets 1000 sales creator gets i think $2500. and can then use $1000 to get 100 5 star ratings.

it also doesn`t help that ratings are at the very bottom. meaning that unless you went all the way down you will never see the 1/2 star rating the pack has.

almost every map i have bought from this chernobol of a marketplace i managed to break out of bounds. the add on idea helps but very very quickly people did the copy-paste method of other add ons,

i have seen at least 3 planes add on packs so related in textures i thought that they had a bug with the pack. which is the last problem, moderation.

whatever becomes trendy becomes the next mass-produced skin pack, made for $5 and taking 10 minutes. and moderation wont stop licenced brands from being stolen. actually moderation is about as real as half-life 3. rumored, but never conformed.
