I've farmed quite a lot in Minecraft, it's a fun survival skill I've put to use in order to get emeralds from villagers. However, over time, with single block crops such as wheat, beetroot, carrots, potatoes, and nether wart, replanting has began to feel more like a tedious chore.
With this in mind, I've thought about something that could possibly replant for you in the form of an enchantment. I don't have a name for it, but I strongly hope something like this makes it into the game. Anyways, here's the details on how it would work:
You get the enchantment on a tool through a book, one that may be quite rare, or only obtainable by villagers/dungeons similar to mending and frost walker. Once you've added the enchantment to a tool, it will replant any of the single block crops that you mine, however, it will only work if you have the resource needed to replant available in your inventory.
For an example, you have nether wart in your inventory and you mine a nether wart crop with the tool that has the enchantment. Directly after you mine the crop, it will be replaced with a new stage 1 nether wart crop, and one nether wart will be deducted from your inventory as if you placed it.
Furthermore, I thought that maybe this enchantment can be exclusive to the hoe tool. Throughout the years, it's main purpose has been to build crop land with no other special use. So to add a greater pinch of importance to the tool, this enchantment would fit the bill. And with that, to prevent it being too over powered, the hoe may take durability damage when mining crops.
Thank you for consideration!
