I really liked the idea of curses, making some loot in structures not too great. But I think it would be cool if there was a curse that you could put on any armor piece, called the Curse of Combustion.
The Curse of Combustion would, when put on armor, sometimes randomly set the ground and nearby mobs afire(and possibly you) every once and awhile. Fire Protection would help here!
But when put on an elytra, it would have a whole new effect. When you go too fast, it "Heats up", and may combust, depending completely on what level of the curse it was (goes up to three). When you combust while you're flying, anything you fly near sets on fire (including you!), the durability of the elytra would run out much faster, and you would fly faster. It would also create a cool visual effect, somewhat similar to a fireball flying through the sky. It would cool down once you landed, or flew slow enough.
It'd be very dangerous to use, and could only be found in the Nether. But if you're an end game player with enough fire protection, it could be very useful and fun.
