This suggestion is to overhaul the common/generic "oak wood mineshaft generation across most biomes" (aside from surface Mesa mineshafts; which have dark oak wood) and bring some diversity with different themes/appearances for these structures.
In short, these mineshafts should become biome-dependent, just like with villages.
Biome-Dependent Mineshaft generation ideas include...
-Oak (Mushroom) Mineshafts (within the Mushroom Islands).
-Oak (Flooded) Mineshafts (within any Ocean types and Swamps).
-Oak Mineshafts (within Plains and Oak Forests).
-Oak (Sandstone) Mineshafts (within Deserts).
-Birch Mineshafts (within Birch Forests).
-Dark Oak Mineshafts (within Dark Oak Forests).
-Dark Oak (Red Sandstone) Mineshafts (underground within Mesas).
-Acacia Mineshafts (within Savannahs).
-Spruce Mineshafts (within any Taiga types and Extreme Hills).
-Spruce (Ice) Mineshafts (within Icy Plains and Ice Spikes).
-Jungle Mineshafts (within Jungles).
