Gold Items Receive Enchantment Perks

I've seen a lot of people talk about the usefulness of tools made from gold, and I thought maybe a way to add some depth to the situation would be to alter how they interact with enchainments. Seeing how many religious and mythical items as well as jewelry are made of gold, I think it would be interesting to see these items maybe have special perks when it comes to enchanting them, to balance their low durability. 

Perhaps as simple as lowering the number of lapis/xp levels required to get higher level enchantments with these items, giving players more of a incentive to mine gold ore and repair these items, as apposed to reserving enchantments for items made of diamonds as I often find myself doing. 

What does everyone think about this? I only recently found out this site existed and just thought Id share, have had this idea for some time.

    I use gold tools in survival.  They are very useful already.  I don’t think they need any more power.

    They already get better enchantments, so I don't know what this suggestion is supposed to be. Also, for once we agree on something, Bilbo.

    Possibly, collecting spawners with golden Silk Touch picks? A special Silk Touch 2 enchantment specifically for spawners?
