Obsidian takes ages to mine. This is good when you've made a fortress out of it, but not when you're trying to harvest it for a Nether Portal. Here's my solution.
Add Glowing Obsidian. It replaces normal Obsidian (usually made when Lava meets Water) and takes significantly less time to mine. It drops itself if mined with a Silk Touch pickaxe, and normal obsidian otherwise.
Other uses:
- Replaces Magma Blocks in Underwater Caves (fits better with colour scheme)
- Creates downwards bubble columns and hurts players standing on it
- Can be made by smelting obsidian, thus making it renewable
This allows you to build virtually impenetrable structures out of it while still taking a short amount of time to harvest it.
Also, this was in Bedrock Edition (used to be Pocket Edition). I think it would look pretty cool if Jappa gave it a texture :)
