Crystal caves would only spawn in the badlands biome. There would be lava under the caves. The crystals are slippery like ice. These large crystals would be made of white glass-like blocks known as selenite which can be easily broken. You could burn a selenite block in a furnace to get polished selenite, which would be as strong as obsidian. This would be useful for building bases. Polished selenite could be put in a stonecutter to make new blocks:

    • Polished selenite stairs
    • Polished selenite slabs
    • Polished selenite wall
    • Selenite brick stairs
    • Selenite brick slabs
    • Selenite brick wall
    • Chiseled selenite bricks

Allotropes would be a new hostile mob that spawns from infested selenite. They have thin blue eyes like diamonds and it can see a distance of 66 blocks. It could change its form to survive any environment or situation, and it could even fly. It attacks by throwing crystal spikes. It drops selenite shards.

Selenite shards could be used to make different colored redstone lamps.

There is a myth that crystals have healing powers. Selenite shards could be brewed to make a Potion of Serenity. The effect icon would look like two angel wings with a halo. The effect would cause your hearts to turn white and you would be immune to damage for 10 seconds similar to being effected with resistance Lev.225, but you also can't use weapons while effected with this and you can't attack anything. This potion will allow you to quickly escape danger.

It would be cool for diamond and emeralds to be slightly more common but iron, gold, and copper to be significantly less common, like mesas with the altered gold rates. Mining for emeralds is really hard and I'd like a lore reason for why villagers seem to get them so easily. (redstone and lapis could be unchanged)
