Crystal Caves

Mining is a part of minecraft, So why not adding colorful crystal structures in geometric shapes to caves, That can be found when you go deeper in the mines?

    There could be a new village profession the geologist. He could sell special tools you need to mine the crystals.

    Ooh, I like this idea! They would just slightly brighten other surrounding blocks, but their colors would still glow beautifully in the dark. I want this to be a thing now!

    They can light up so when you get deep in a cave, it shows a dim light. That would honestly be a cool idea.

    If they where to be added crystal caves they would not easy to find they would be found rarely probably but the crystals could be used for many light sources since they are many versions of colors and this would light up your world!

    Caves definitely need more variety, and this is an idea I've loved for a while. The crystals would have to be a new block, maybe something that looks like a cross between concrete, quartz and stained glass?

    They shouldn't be as rare as for example fossils, but they should still be pretty rare. While I'd be happy for them just to be decorative blocks, if Mojang wanted them to have a use, you could use them instead of lapis to boost your enchantment levels?

    Anyway, I'm always in support of cave updates and this would be amazing. This game used to be called cave game, and "mine" is half the title. Lets make this the best.

    This is a good idea but i think it would need its own type of cave aka cavern as crystals would be big and not fighting in the small confines of a normal cave

    I agree to this. Crystal caves generate when you go deeper. That could even lead to the addition of crystals, and Ruby ore (a new gem) similar to diamonds and emeralds, and they could all be found in those caves. But that would mean that they should increase the build limit to let's say 500, and the distance between the surface and bedrock also. Increasing the rarity.

    Honestly that would make the game even better than it already is

    The crystals could give off colored light and also be a controllable light by placing multiple in the same block (like sea pickles)

    Caves are so boring and I too think they need to get a massive overhaul. They are the same in each biom ,so change that and and more ores.

    I like the idea, it would break up the monotone aspect of the underground. Maybe crystals could also be transparent and glow. Because it would be really cool if we could have transparent light blocks.

    Mojang could add the Giant Crystals Cave which is a real cave in Mexico, this type of cave/structure should be very rare, with giant crystals that are transparent but also emit light and are partially submerged in water and you can mine those crystals only with diamond or better pick with silk touch, because again they are ultra rare and fragile

    The cave of crystals in Mexico has fascinated me since I learned of it, to see something like it in Minecraft would be amazing!

    I feel that to prevent the caves from being mined out the crystals should not have any use besides maybe a light source, these caves should just be an incredible natural wonder.

     I totally agree with mercy langley  , Mojang should hire some real geologist from real life because there are plenty of Minerals, Crystals and Stones that are forming in Lava, water, deep ground and so on

     In order of rarity, Quartz Crystals, redstone and lapis crystals, with diamonds being the rarest. Drops their respective items

    This kinda gets implemented in the Caves and Cliffs with amethyst geodes, but I still think it would be cool to have a bigger structure full of crystals. Maybe something other than amethyst?

    Maybe the crystals are enchanted in some way. I think the crystals should give off a glow. Maybe even naturally spawning enchantment tables or chests. Or maybe the crystals could be made out of solid diamonds or other things like that.

    Maybe even add a new "cristal" mon, that only spawns in this cave.
