Furnace Cart Changes?

PLEASE!!!! I've been thinking about uses for this item but there are none! If the coal lasted longer and it made the cart much faster it would be great. Also comparators should detect how much coal is in the cart and hoppers should be able to take and give coal from the carts.

I believe these mechanics would make this item better and make it usable for redstone projects.

I think they should add a new functionality, being able to take coal from hoppers and giving redstone signals to comparators. This feature makes the furnace-minecart act as a chest that consumes coal overtime and gives signals to comparators which can be used for timers (ex: A mini-game which you have to insert coal to play if you want to play more you have to give more coals, just like a telephone-boot). Also if hoppers could take coal from furnace minecarts we could also make smelters which consumes a bit more coal while consuming less space.

    atleast if it had an interface so you can throw in a couple of stacks and it holds the coal untill its depleted. and like you said, it should interact with hoppers (they should only fill it though because there already carts with chests)

    Yes, It would be great if comparators could detect that something is in the cart.

    I agree with you on everything you said, but you forgot to mention one of the biggest flaws in furnace minecarts. Furnace trains need to be able to turn corners without breaking the links and propelling the riding player/carts backward. This means that currently your track must be straight all the way from start to finish, unless you just want a single runaway coal-stealing minecart cruising around your world...

    For me, they just need to properly push/pull multiple Mine Carts. Right now, they can’t even push carts from rest. The train also breaks when turning corners.

    For me, they just need to Fix those issues, and then add the ability to build small trains. I don’t need a fancy GUI, but it would be neat.

    The coal doesn't really need to last longer, it can already go 750 blocks
