self fed animals

simple, animals should be able to eat without being fed. with the exception of sheep eating grass, there is pretty much no self feeding mobs except ourselves.also, when dogs kill sheep, they should eat the mutton. if animals don't eat they would not die.

    Why?  In this game, the eating is not related to living for these mobs, and it would be very annoying if it was.

    Also, it's not true that sheep are the only mobs that eat.  Horses also have a grazing animation, although they do not break the grass.  Rabbits will also actually eat any mature carrot crops they come across, according to the Wiki.

    I partly agree with you sheep are somewhat self fed and horses because they both eat grass by themselves. I feel like cows, pigs, and chickens should be able to do that too

    Wolves, ocelots, horses and rabbits also feed themselves.

    Sheep eat grass.  Horses graze.  Withers eat innocent villagers.  So do zombies, to a degree.

    I meant like if you dropped piece of steak in front of a dog it would eat it by itself. kind of like a villager picking up seeds, bread, wheat...etc..

    Still, villagers do eat bread while holding the item.  I don’t know about eating the item lying on the ground, though.  It could be a pain if every time you kill an animal, your pet dog grabs the meat.

    I don't think that all of these features should be implemented, however I think that animals should eat dropped item entities and breed.

    They should add some sort of trough that you need to fill for the animals that they can eat from and pet bowls for pets. I love your idea!

    make it so that tamed dog and cats have to be fed by the player though
