Enchanting items

We should be able to enchant items not just tools.I watched a video on someone doing it but with a mod.Please in the next update make it so that we can enchant items such as sticks and blaze rods with anvils or commands

  You could type out a command that gives you an unenchantable item to have an enchantment.  For Example:

  /give @p blaze_rod{Enchantments:[{id:unbreaking,lvl:4},{id:sharpness,lvl:1}]}

  We used to be abe to put any enchant on any item so long as you were in creative. not sure why it was changed

  You can still put enchantments on any item in creative. Just not with an anvil

  Yes please bring this back! I used to exploit the ability to enchant items when making maps for me and my friends to enjoy and since I’m an Xbox player I’m not too fond of command blocks because it takes forever to type (even with the chat pad) so it would be much appreciated if this was brought back because it would make character weapon designs etc. much easier again!
