Highly Inappropriate People ruining the fun for kids ****SERIOUS***

My daughter and I are Minecraft fans and use it to spend quality time together. We love the games and Minecraft servers. Recently we noticed people creating or using blocks to write or build curse words and inappropriate content for kids. It's very upsetting and has to be taken care of. I don't know how it would be done but it has to be. There should be a way for us to report players that are creating an unsafe environment for kids and families. This is one of the reasons we took away Roblox from our computers.

    Thanks for ruining the game for pretty much everyone including your kids. A change nobody wanted and is something that is a you problem. Minecraft is not responsible for anything that happens in servers and this is a very stupid suggestion and it was somehow made even worse too in game. The fact that some countries are banned due to the censors and even the word night... says it all

    1. Roblox has rules and you can report players.
    2. Minecraft servers are run by people separate from the people who make the game. It is up to those people to determine what to do with them. If you don't like what their moderation is doing, find a different server or create your own.

    In truth, there are plenty of servers with excellent moderation, automatic filters and trained staff, but there must and should be able in the future to exist servers such as 2b2t where vulgarity and profanity are allowed WITH THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE PLAYERS.
    But above all, there must not be a universal reporting system, but rather the moderators of the various servers should be instructed with seminars etc...
    And above all Minecraft is not a game for kids... it is a game for all ages

    It's the SERVER OWNERS' responsability to ban those people! Mojang and Microsoft should NOT touch the players in privately owned servers!! It's utter non sense.

    In the servers i play in, i don't see those kind of buildings and cursing, because the server owners know what they are doin!

    This report system can be overly used in the wrong way to ban innocent people!

    I’m really happy that this happened, but I feel like it wasn’t quite done correctly. As others have said, maybe just having an optional filter in setting that is locked on until you turn either 13 or 18, depending on what Mojang wanted. That way, the people who want to swear can, but the messages just wouldn’t be received by everyone.

    This feature is a complete invasion of privacy! All of a sudden, whatever you do or type can be given up to Microsoft on a whim. Congratulations, now your child is constantly being monitored by a random stranger.

    Im going to use sighns to chat with friends because of you and make a fricken banner alphabet with hard-earned materials just because a selfish little brat like you couldn't care enough to even LOOK at your kid

    you do realize, online play isn't rated by the ESRB. they say that all the time. If you want to have a "family friendly" experience, dont play online. Also this isn't a thing for mojang to do, it should be left up to the servers to add a report function. (you hear that microsoft?!?!)

     

    Anyways, dumb idea.

    If there were rules against this kind of behavior, then you should've contacted the server's mods/admins and see if they could remove the bad actor, instead of letting Mojang enforce the horrible chat report system on all servers. That's how Roblox is poorly managed and maintained, and now, unfortunately, that's also starting to become the case for Minecraft, with version 1.19.1 (I'd recommend to just play on better servers tbh).
