While this is a good point, maybe on public servers or settings you can censor things like on roblox but higher and numbers ARE allowed. I wouldnt want a roblox censor chat though because we kinda like numbers, gibberish like "das, amdfdsadsafsadwawsdfredvgfdcv" or other stuff.

Yeah roblox has a report. But i think there should be censored content on minecraft.

This isn't an issue for Mojang, it should be taken up with server hosts. This is one of the risks of playing an huge open-world game, and there are already ways to block this kind of stuff.

IMO, if they don't know what it is yet they will at some point so I don't understand why it's an issue.

This post is completely redundant. You can't really remove toxic communities easily. Remember that not only 12-year-olds play the game, and sometimes those are even the ones making bad comments. On java servers, there are reporting systems up, and there was a new feature the client-side block players. Oh yeah, and stopping players from building profanity is not something you can do. The best you can do is log into servers with strict moderation. (I.e; Hypixel) even then it can take time for punishments to roll out. Mainly because you have to deal with millions of reports everyday.

    you are right
until they do that i think you should play alone with your daughter in a server where other people don't join or can't join

while it may be upsetting maybe dont let your daughter on public servers ur exposing her to the risk of this which is both you the parents fault just as much as the people doing it on the server i agree it is wrong but maybe you should not be playing on public servers because theres always a chance of some pedo or someone doing that.

I hope Mojang gives some clarification soon on why it is "announced" as this thread makes me kinda worried, and i say this as a parent of a young child.

I believe its up to a parent to first investigate a playground to see if it is safe for their kids to play on, this should be for both real life and virtual playgrounds. Personally i have a real life playground that is build in a not safe way, therefore i will supervise my child whenever he uses it.

In school (online server) your kids may hear others curse or be bullies. I don't think i as a parent should report these kids to the police (mojang/microsoft), instead i should talk to the teachers (server admins) who are more involved with the situation, if they are unwilling to do anything, i should re-evaluate if this school is safe for my child.

I agree it could be useful if there existed an endorsed website for child friendly severs, if they are not safe as promised the servers should be reported to the website and not be featured.

Most people here that agree with the feedback call for a much more harsh reporting of players, and the only logical solution a player report could provide is banning these people/kids from online servers in general, this would go to far and has potential to be abused (bullies mass reporting a friendly player).

Mojang and Microsoft should not act as a police, at maximum they should provide tools so we the parents can make responsible choices.

Maybe you can do a kid-friendly server like Hive or Galaxite. If that doesn't work then maybe make your own server

Do you want to make Minecraft just like China edition developed by NetEase, which greatly restricts players' behaviour, including banning notice board and chatroom?

Mojang is not responsible for what happened to the servers, but we are concerned.

Let me guess anarchy servers? those are usually the main worlds that have that other than that just make your own world or go to a server that is clean.

Does this mean 'Inappropriate People ruining the fun for kids' is now part of the game, since it's announced?

Some people like me love hanging around friends who are ok with such. For some of my friends, it's the main reason they play Minecraft. A simple solution to this is to make the ban function more available. If someone isn't what you want? Ban them! They'll never bother you again ;). The current system completely bans all Minecraft players from playing online at all which is really upsetting for a fraction of us immature teenagers trying to have fun.

Ok I’m going to be real with you. Teenagers are going to be teenagers. If it really bothers you that much, just play on a different server. If you don’t want to do that, then deal with it.

And also I forgot something. Number one there’s no rule that mojang has ever implemented saying that this kind of stuff isn’t allowed. That’s why it’s rated the way it is. Number two if you really don’t like it just stop playing the fucking game.

Look, Roblox is a very boring game and I support this, but Roblox censorship was so strong it was too strong. I would be telling people “ Go to the museum” and it would come out “ Go to the ######”.

This isn't a dev problem as this would be used by groups of people to ban people they don't like. Also instead of taking stuff away from your kid add a chat filter if you're really that protective, trust me any one old enough to remember MW2 has heard worse

Big servers like Hypixel have a filter and a report system, but if u played on 2b2t, you shouldn't because that content is not for kids.

Thank you for mentioning this, I have never seen anything inappropriate but am sure there are things out there, also the opinion that this isn’t the game owners problem is unfortunate and mislead, the game programmers could easily put in a line of code to sensor any inappropriate language, I do not know how to fix the building thing though, sorry
