I understand that a lot of players like the change to mossy cobblestone in Jappa's new textures. However, I think what is needed is for a bright green and a more yellow-green version of both blocks. The more slimy looking mossy cobble looks great in an underground setting like the dungeons. However, it looks downright out of place in the jungle temple amongst the super green of the jungle biome.
To me, the new texture for both mossy blocks looks like it could be used for stone that is underground or underwater. However, it is called mossy stone, and most healthy moss I've seen is a very vivid green. Here are some examples from google images: 1 2 3 4
The new textures remind me more of a stone covered in algae or lichen. More examples from google images: 1 2 3 4
I agree that it's a shame that the mossy stone brick and the mossy cobblestone had different colorations. It made it impossible to mix them in an overgrown build. However, this new color makes it impossible for me to use either in a lush application. So I think we should have both. Make two new blocks. Ideally, the existing structures should be changed to use the appropriate ones in new world gen. Jungle temples need the bright green cobble, while the strongholds need the dull green brick. Because they're underground, the dungeons should use the dull green texture.
Given that vines are a bright green, I think the "mossy" type should continue to be bright green (although it could be a different bright green than the old mossy cobble texture) and use that crafting recipe. I'm not sure what the duller green recipe should be, but I call it slimy stone and they look to me like they could be crafted with slime balls. I would love other suggestions for names and crafting recipes.
