I agree 100 percent. A lot of mods, resource packs, maps, ect for Minecraft Java are horribly outdated( Windows 1.12,1.13,etc) and won't work on current versions of Minecraft. If there I a Java marketplace, then people wouldn't have to worry about outdated downloads or whether 3rd arty content is safe or dangerous. Sure you can get Java downloads for free, but what good does it do if you cannot play that version 1.12 download on your version 1.14  of Minecraft? You'd be forced to do a rollback.which is annoying.Just because something is free doesn't mean it's good.

@krazygameYT I still want things to be free like normal for Java, but my idea of a Java Marketplace is an easier experience for newer and existing players to find mods, Texture Packs, Skins etc in one place other than all over the place. I wasn't thinking that Mojang should host it themselves and make people pay for everything like in Bedrock, but just one place to find everything easily by searching and one place for all Minecraft creators (including 3rd party and ones made by Minecraft themselves possibly) to put their mods safely. I imagine it being a piece of mind thing for all players more than a thing you have to pay for. If Mojang or someone from the Minecraft community can make a Marketplace for Java, I really hope they make it all free like Java has always been 🙂

It would be nice if Java had an area that they compiled some of the files, because whenever I try to download a mod it just says "Safari can't open" or something. However, the term marketplace suggests that it would cost money, and I believe that if Mojang did this it most likely would.

Yeah, plus I have a certain skin I love that I use on Bedrock Edition but I can’t obtain it on Java because it doesn’t have the marketplace within it

I dislike the idea because it will ruin Java's no Micro-Transaction thingy. Java was always fully free after you buy it and it will make Microsoft only more money hungry. No I don't like the idea. I have Bedrock and even there I don't buy anything in the store. I don't want Minecraft to become Fortnite or Rocket League. And if it happens, then I am gone.

This would be awesome for map makers, resource pack designers, and mod makers. Sure, stuff is free right now, but everything is either outdated or needs to be downloaded from some random website. It's impossible for creators to make any profit from the hours and hours of work they put into making content for this game. I think the convenience of it will get more people purchasing directly though the marketplace instead of looking for something elsewhere.

I hate this idea. Everything on java is already free and has been for a long time.

Also if you think about it if the marketplace was a thing in Java Microsoft would find ways too make sure you guys can't get mods for free they are alreadying doing it to Xbox.

Absolutely not. The java version does not need microtransactions.

I don’t see a proper base on the arguments against this. Mojang would never make our existing resources paid, as removing resourcepack, datapack, or map making support for free would also remove the people that would be making things for this new marketplace. What people tend to forget is that Microsoft has spent over 2.5 billion dollars on this game. They obviously need some way to make their money back. If they don’t this game is not making them profit and they’d have to stop development. Currently, java is a prime example of this. Our current options are that Java either gets a marketplace or development on it stops all together, and we all get to play the glitch fest that is bedrock edition. Those are just my first points, this is also an amazing idea because it allows datapack, resourcepack, and map development to actually be profitable for creators on java. For anyone wondering why I didn’t mention mods. Mods are a third party entity to Minecraft that run off things like forge or fabric. This would mean they wouldn’t be in this marketplace. I also highly doubt any skins would be either. In conclusion, Microsoft would be completely brain dead to not take advantage of this completely open opportunity to make not only more jobs for Minecraft content creators, but also some extra money.

I don't know if this should be a new suggestion, but it would be cool if we could use our marketplace skins/packs/maps on both Java and Bedrock. This would also encourage the use of it and does not need to be mandatory for all skins/packs/maps/.
