Increased beacon distance request

i like building nordic citys in minecraft and my brother and i made two citys in game one for me one for him but they was really far apart so i put a beacon at each of our citys so we could find eachothers city but i couldnt see the beacon from far away i mean whats the core point of a beacon so you can see where your house is right well why have it if you can only see it from like two feet away also you cantt see other players from far away i was looking for my brother and he was kinda far away and he wasnt renderd in until i got closer

    This sounds like an issue with render distance. What was your render distance set at?

    So what you want is an increased render distance of a beacon beam.  How far away are the places?  It would probably be more effective to build a road between your two cities if you want to be able to travel easily between them.

    I wouldn't say the main point of the beacon is to be able to find a place.  The main point is the effects you can get by building a big enough pyramid.

    Actually, the player render distance is the same no matter what the render distance is, and it is fairly short, meaning playing with others is actually slightly inconvenient.

    Also, in general a 'beacon' is defined as, an obvious or deliberately easy to find marker, so technically speaking a beacon's main purpose is a navigation guide/marker.
