Blacked out lower half of skybox should be at y=0 in "Floating Island", just like in Superflat
In the overworld, with the default Surface terrain generation, while the player is below y=61, the lower half of the skybox is blacked out to make being in caves and underwater in the ocean more reallistic, while if the player is at y=62 and above, the entire skybox is shown so that there is no weird band of darkness surrounding the entire world.
However, with the Superflat terrain generation, this point of where it switches over between blacking out or not the lower half of the skybox has been set to y=0, effectively always showing the entire skybox, because it is there possible to have the ground level at any hight, and having it switch over while mid air is pretty distracting and ugly.
And thus my argument is that while using the "Floating Island" terrain generation, the game should also have the switchover point as well at y=0, because there is no "lowest terrain feature" that needs stuff to be hidden, and just walking on the outer surface of the islands will cause the sky to blink and while being low on an island the lower half of the sky will be dark and for no apparent reason hide the sun and the moon while there is nothing below the islands.
Dont know about "Caves", but there is a quick effective workaround ingame. Just turn weather and day/night cycles of, then turn it to midnight and turn rain on, this will turn the skybox entirely black and work well as the yonder reaches of a world of caves... so thats whatever~
