Iron chest

This chest can't able to open unless when send it a redstone signal so you can now able to open it.

    That's actually kind of a cool idea, not going to lie. Puzzle map makers would love this. Voted.

    What crafting recipe would you propose? A ring of 8 iron ingots seems to be the most obvious, perhaps with a tripwire or piece of redstone dust in the center.

    Tal vez que solo lo pueda abrir el creador del cofre, que esté creado con los 7 lingotes de hierro 1 cable trampa en el centro y 1 de piedra rojiza en la zona inferior media, teniendo la capacidad base de 9×4, incluso; uno de oro con capacidad base de 9×5 y uno de diamante con capacidad base de 9×6, con la capacidad de unificar dos.
    Probablemente sería mas del tipo de variación del cofre del end.

    I loved this idea, but please correct the grammar. I'll make your work easier, just copy paste this part:

    This chest would only open if a redstone signal is sent to it. It would be a great addition for everyone but mainly for map creators for puzzles.

    I'd say it would be cool as, but I recommend that you would have to get some sort of key to open it such as an iron, gold and or diamond, and depending on what kind of chest you make like an iron, gold or diamond, the key would automatically be made with it

    I love it. It's simple, it follows the logical mechanics of existing redstone blocks (iron doors), and maybe could even be harder to break than a regular chest (by mining or explosives).

    it can also be used for bigger storage since its made of a better material like how zombies cant break iron doors (or can they i forgot)

    I prefer the key idea people have suggested. Or make it a combination lock, or something. There's plenty of times it would be nice to be able to protect your valuables on a multiplayer server without the use of plugins.

    Another comment asked what happens is someone were to break the chest. Perhaps it should act as an ender chest as long as both sides are powered. I also think it should be crafted with 8 iron ingots.

    I came here expecting (and wishing for) a chest variant with a larger storage space.

    However, I was positively surprised. I really want this. Now I really want this added into the game!

    I was just thinking of something like this!

    Small detail, but I was imagining that it would open when given a redstone signal, which would then allow the player to access it, rather than a redstone signal allowing the player to open it.

    Also it was just pointed out to me that this doesn't necessarily have to be a chest, it could instead be some kind of safe. Just something to think about. (that would probably take away the option of having this as a double chest though, so I dunno)

    Consider this: 

    Iron Chest:

    • Crafted with eight (8) iron ingots in the same manner a normal chest is crafted. 
    • Looks like a banded Iron chest
    • Has inventory equal to a normal double chest, cannot be made into a double iron chest. 
    • When crafted, provides a key to unlock the chest that you have to hold when interacting with the chest. 
    • Increased blast resistance (creepers can't blow it up)
    • Most easily mined with a pickaxe. 

    Redstone Iron Chest:

    • Crafted with eight (8) iron ingots and one (1) block of redstone
    • Looks like a Redstone banded Iron chest.
    • Inventory equal to a normal double chest, cannot be made into a double iron chest.
    • When crafted, provides a redstone laced key necessary to unlock/open the chest
    • Can be opened via a redstone signal, or when opened with a redstone key, emits a redstone pulse. 
    • Increased blast resistance.
    • Most easily mined with a Pickaxe.
