Crossbreeding Dogs

If they ever add many different variants of species of dogs, they should add crossbreeding to gain new breeds and abilities for the dog and it's owner.

    This was one of my ideas but I feel like there should be wolves tamed to be tamed wolves and dogs you can also tame with bones but have them have breeds to the species

    it would be rediculous if they added crossbreeding dogs because they are morden dogs so do wolves instead

    You could also add to this by saying add stray dogs that function like the stray cats. Regular dogs would still spawn in their respective biomes but in certain villages stray dogs would spawn instead of stray cats. They would have different coat colors and be tamed with raw meat  such as pork, beef, or mutton.

    I agree, but i don't know if the wolfs in minecraft are considered “dogs”. Anyway, I would love if they added wolf variants :)

    I don't know about that. I think it should be like the cats where you can breed for example, a poodle and a labrador and get either a poodle or a labrador, but not a labradoodle. I think that would be cool, but it sounds much more like a mod type thing to me than a vanilla Minecraft feature.

    I have had the same idea for a while and I think that the variants must be determined by the biome for example in a cold biome wolves are predominantly white or depending on the size of the biome they are more or less large and the characteristics of the parents are accentuated depending on the biome in which the baby is born

    I think this is a great idea! mojang has already added different cat breeds so why not add it to dogs?

    Dogs should act like villagers in that they have roles (connected to their breeds) and do their daily work like patrol areas, protect friendlies, dig rewards, fish, hunt, be cute, etc. etc. They should also act like iron golems in that they actively protect the player, the villagers and others

    Because dogs are better than cats in real life, they should also be better than cats in minecraft.

    I love this! I would love to have different variations, even if you could do a wolf dog and when you breed them it’s goes further into more dog than anything.like maybe having specific brews can help with fishing, or herding.

    Or maybe it will simplify everything. When crossing two wolves, the child changes color to a dog, randomly. Some dogs are born cowardly, and do not attack zombies. They whine and run away from them.

    I personally think that this would have to be a massive update breed new behaviors animations and then the thing I want to see is being able to right click with a totem of undying on a dog gives their collar a totem charm and they’ll be able to live after fatal damage

    yes we need black/brown/spotted dogs different varieties and when you crossbreed they get different stats would be cool too, depending on rarity.
