I think this is a great idea it simplifies automatic farming, removes slavery, and adds a new mechanic into the game.

Awesome. I was suggesting dispensers should be able to plant seeds on farmland.

I tried to make a fully automatic farm for wheat but I need dispensers/droppers to place seeds. WE NEED THIS

I've actually played around with mods that let you use dispensers to plant seeds- it makes for some really interesting engineering challenges. (As it turns out, timing the harvest properly, and sorting/feeding seeds back into dispensers, and making the thing tileable is harder than it seems, if extremely satisfying.)

Since food can already be obtained automatically, I think this system would encourage more innovation and design challenges than just trapping villagers and having them do it for you, which is more just irritating and morally dubious than fun or creative.

I disagree that the current method is a pro-slavery message but i do agree an automated way to plant crops would be useful. Maybe instead of the hoed ground automatically picking the item, we can use dispensers or some kind of item to "shoot" the seeds into the hoed ground.

Or have the ability for a hopper to plant a seed to farmland if farmland is under the hopper or add a seeder block that created by using the new resources we have in the game.
