I support any biome that gives us more access to red sand, and this sounds very well thought out and interesting.

Will a bottle of this poison water just naturally be throwable instead of drinkable, or would it need to be turned into a splash potion?

The one concerning thing is what happens when natural terrain generation causes water to cross out of this biome?  Or is there very special terrain generation within the biome that would prevent such a thing?

Great idea, but only if you add the city dimension

Like a revamped Badlands you can find in Survival? I love it.

If nothing spawns there what's the point of the boost? Are you referring to NEW mobs?

    Nonetheless, I like your idea!

I had an idea where it would be caused by the Wither. Where wherever you spawn the wither he'll kill everything around him in a large area, turning the grass grey, with a new tainted soil block. The trees lose the leaves and the bark turns black. This is also a way to add the wither flower into the over world. There would be a variant zombie in the area that's also grey and dusty. And if the wither attacks a village it makes them all dusty too, leaving charred ruins.

This biome also has a rare chance to spawn on it's own in the over world. when it spawns on it's own there would also be new cave generations. Such as circular pits that drop down, like craters, as well as craters. Perhaps underground in the caves Netherack would spawn occasionally like granite or andesite. There would be a higher chance to find a abandoned, portal, and village ruins with dusty village zombies would spawn.

I don't know if this is possible.... but to have it be cloudier above the biome itself. perhaps having that be a way to see it from a distance.

I think that it would create a nice contrast against temperate areas that are very green. And it would almost be like a bit of lore as well (adding to the dramatic power of the wither).

I'm sorry I feel like I'm piggybacking. Generally I think that a wasteland biome would create some really cool contrast with the biomes around it. And I love the mushrooms. love me some mushrooms and red sand.

I like the direction you're headed however, i feel that a Heat Exhaustion bar should be added and you must drink water bottles to keep the bar up as food for saturation. You would collect the water before adventuring into the biome and water bottles should be stackable.

I think it would be cool to have an ALL-wasteland biome and try to survive

Scorpions! It would be cool if there were scorpions that would spawn and attack you, inflicting nausea, poison, and blindness. And maybe you could put a spider eye in a Glow-Potion to make a Potion of Blindness.

Reading one of the comments ^, I think that there could also be a variant of the new scorpion mob called a Withered Scorpion. This mob would only spawn on ash blocks, which appear in the biome, along with soft ash, which you would sink into and suffocate. If a scorpion falls into the soft ash, it starts to shiver and it turns into a Withered Scorpion. Obviously, it would inflict Decay, otherwise known has Withering. As for this comment: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en- us/community/posts/360011403532/comments/360012082151

you would be able to make a new type of bundle called a water skin, which would be crafted with a bundle and beeswax. Use it on a water source block to fill it up, and drink clean water out of it whenever you want. until it ran out that is...

Maybe, you could find a new structure called a asylum. These would be very safe, well lit structures with chests full of water skins. There would also be a new armor trim called Withered, which would make it look like the armor was damaged. The asylums would maybe even have zombie villagers, and the means to cure them as well. Animals in the wasteland would drop 50% of the normal drops, like meat and leather. Also, there should be a new armor slot, were you would put gauntlets and gloves.

Gloves would make your mining more efficient and make have a better punch. There would be leather gloves, but all levels after that would be called gauntlets. Levels of gauntlets would be: Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Netherite, and Carapace. Carapace would make the tools you used 50% and all the gauntlets would have a few enchantments: Spiked, Heavy, Knockback, and Withered. Spiked would do extra damage to any mobs without carapace, and heavy would do extra damage to Scorpions, Withered would apply the Decay effect longer for each level of the enchantment, I=1sec, II=4sec, III=9sec, IIII=16sec and finally IIIII= 25sec. And you know good ol' Knockback. Uh. that was longwinded.

Also, you could find gloves and gauntlets in asylums, and the enchantments for them. The Withered enchantment would only go up to five, but it WOULD be stackable, and the number of seconds the effect is applied is the level squared. It would go up to IIIIIIIIII, which is ten levels, resulting in 100secs of infliction. Yikes!

Finally, there should be a Cracked Wastelands, which i explained in this post: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/46241646801037-The-Cracked-Wastelands-Biome-Very-rare
