Named hostile mobs don't despawn in Peaceful mode

    I would never want to switch to Peaceful mode in my survival worlds - I consider it cheating - but for those that would want to, this sounds like a nightmare. I find it hard to believe things don't work this way already; if you had asked me if this was the way things worked before I'd read your post, I would have guessed that it was.

    I know it's something people are always paranoid about.  And I just verified it after reading your post.  Named a creeper, went to peaceful, creeper gone.  I probably should have done that before posting, but I guess people are paranoid about it for a reason. x3

    Is there a way to lock the game in a certain difficulty permanently?
    If permanent named mobs are not added to the game I need a way to prevent switching to peaceful accidentally

    We must switch to peaceful mode quite often on bedrock edition (Xbox One as server and 1 player and Windows 10 with 2 other players). On one second only. The reason is a bug that any mobs aren't spawning after some time. For example when we visit our village with much villagers and animals, spawning of hostile mobs stopping until we restart it by switch to peace mode and back to normal.
    Then our ender farm dont works - either endermans are not spawning or endermite is despawn.
    Named mobs should stay live in peaceful mode!

    The way this is currently is particularly annoying in creative mode and player-made worlds. The original reason I named my hostile mobs was so that they wouldn't despawn in peaceful mode (as well as adding character and humor).

    Why has this not been added yet, it makes 0 sense for even hostile mobs that are named to disappear, especially as you cant even go back and forth with difficulty, u can only go in one order, easy, normal,hard, then peaceful, if you wanted to get back to easy

    Why do hostile mobs have to despawn on peaceful at all? Why not just become passive?

    This is really important for me because I need to switch to peaceful mode while I transport villagers, because I don't have an iron farm yet and the nearest village is far away.

    I would love this as a peaceful player that likes to build mob farms, this would also be cool when I make a villager zombifier and then switch to peaceful

    This would be so helpful!  I often play on Peaceful bc hey, life is stressful & I play video games to relax not to stress me out even more.  Buuuut I do have some farms that rely on mobs, so it would be really nice to have this feature.

    This would be insanely helpful. I'd love a peaceful silence at my base while my giant zombie is still chilling without all the skelton rattles and enderman vwoops from underground. Please add this!

    Yes, this, please! I’m host a server where my friends and I play primarily in peaceful for a relaxing game, but we love building machines and farm, so having named hostile mobs despawn ruins our chance to build so many things. Please please please add this feature, it would be huge for so many players.

    Additionally, if you have your game in hard, and want to cycle back to normal, you will despawn all your named hostiles / holding items hostiles if you're on lan / server admin....

    This would be good especially if you keep switching from mode to mode and you have a named hostile mob with no AI for a contraption of sorts.

    I also go back and forth between normal, hard and peaceful. The biggest downside for me is the villager discount mechanics that need a zombie. Now, I build my trade center close to a zombie spawner. But it'd be way less annoying for the named zombie not to despawn.

    I went to switch from survival to spectator in a world I'm working on for a personal addon project. My menu glitched. I wanted gamemode and, of course, I accidentally hit the difficulty setting and it went to Peaceful and now all the Wardens and the few Baby Zombies I named are gone. Good thing I have an immediate backup. Lost about a couple hours of work tho... Would be really nice knowing if the world ever goes to Peaceful, the mobs I name will still be there. Whether by accident or just wanting to be in Peaceful, it would be very convenient to not have named mobs despawn! (I named them so obviously I don't want them gone for any reason lol)

    YES! I have made the zombies in my iron farm despawn by going into peaceful mode so much, this would be such a useful feature.
