I've always wanted to know the names of the songs in Minecraft, but never had the time to go look up the actual C418 albums and listen to them until I could recognize each song.
This is a really simple idea but I'd love it if Minecraft had a /song command, or maybe /music (since some people would argue that music only counts as a song if it has words, which the Minecraft music does not). It would be similar to /seed - you would just type "/song" in chat but instead of getting the seed for the world, you would get the title of the track that is currently playing. If no song is playing, nothing happens.
I have no clue if anyone else thinks this is a good idea but I think it would be cool.
Edit: Maybe it could be a gamerule instead of a command. It could be off by default, but you activate it by typing /gamerule displayBackgroundMusic true (or something similar). Then, whenever a song is played, text appears above the hotbar, similar to when a music disc is played, telling you the title of the song.
