Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Increased mushroom variety, nether & cave mushrooms (was: Different Fungi)

What I really think we should add is more fungi. Minecraft at the moment is losing mushroom popularity. You barely even need them in Minecraft now but more for decoration. What I’m saying is that we should add different “species” of mushroom.

What I’m thinking is maybe adding like a tall, skinny, orange kind of mushroom in the nether that maybe gives fire resistance for 30 seconds and can get a longer ability of fire resistance if turned into stew. We can also get maybe this type of glowing blue mushroom found in caves which will give night vision.

I beileive that the possibilities are endless with the type of fungi we can think of.

I really hope this gets noticed and at least mentioned In the Mojang studios because this update would be legendary.

    I really like the idea of glowing mushrooms in caves. Maybe you could make a special kind of torch with it that attracts hostile mobs!

    they should have some mushrooms that look similar to these new mushrooms, but they give a negative effect when consuming them. for example, there could be a mushroom found in caves that is blue with white dots and one with black dots. the one with white dots could give you night vision, and the one with black dots could give you blindness. it would make the game a lot more interesting if you had to watch what you eat. this would be like poison potatoes but you might actually eat them on accident.
