Requesting a Jellyfish Mob

The recent Aquatic update is probably Minecraft's best yet, in my humble opinion. The new mobs, the added blocks, and best of all, the CLEAR WATER. I am very much looking forward to diving into everything this update has to offer.

So here is my request. In light of the droves of new water mobs that have popped up, I found myself feeling like it was all missing one tiny but nevertheless attractive mob idea - jellyfish! I mean, jellyfish ARE one of the most common sea creatures around, and if we have pufferfish, it stands to reason we could have the jellies.

The Minecraft team has brought us some supremely creative ideas for creatures roaming about our world, I mean we have dolphins that chase the player's boat and turtles that lay eggs in the sand. A jellyfish mob would be icing on the cake. Think about it - instead of just the squid, we now have a small, colorful, tentacled little guy with lots of potential for unique behavior. Maybe the player takes minor damage from its stingers when they bump into one. Maybe it has a glow-in-the-dark feature, or swims in clusters. Maybe the turtle mob naturally chases after them. It would be a beautiful edition to Minecraft aquariums and ocean worlds.

Why my enthusiasm for a possible jelly mob? Well, for the last 2 years I've been building a very, VERY large world as a gift for a special somebody of mine, who is an avid Minecraft fan. Her favorite animal is jellyfish. Her birthday is coming up in a couple months... and I thought that if some important Minecraft team member saw this message and graced it with a "yeah, let's do it!", it would be the ultimate gift for this ultimate gamer girl. If I could take her on a surprise tour of a jellyfish aquarium on her birthday, it would make her whole month. I would be eternally grateful if someone out there could lend a hand, lend a vote, and make this possible.

    i like this idea, when i see the photos examples of the jellyfishes i see it like, very beautiful, and i think that if tge player was swimming and touch it, the player should take a little damage like "shock", as why thats bc a jellyfish, but i love it! its beautiful, I approve it.

    Great idea! It would be very nice to have different variants. You could have magma ones which stick to walls and leap at you, or ones hiding in deep underwater caves. Also potential for different coloured slime blocks (I am imagining pink, purple and red slime/honey blocks). Voted

    If minecraft does this it would make the ocean look better then all they have to do is change the ugly gravel to sand

    It would clearly be a magnificent addition to marine life in Minecraft. 
    The spawn rate must however be selected carefully as jellyfish would sting too often. 
    Perhaps it would be nice to have a feature that isn’t exactly representative of reality … (similar to how the axolotl offers a regeneration effect in return for a helping hand in a battle or frogs eating slime and magma cubes)

    I love that there are different types it would add so much life to the ocean I think it would be cool if they could be tame-able and could attack drowneds for the player

    I think that's a great idea of the perfect idea but if they if the creators of Minecraft do do it I would think they will be like just like a real jelly fish cuz Minecraft is pretty realistic I got to say it will last a long time kind of when you have food poisoning when you eat like Rotting Flesh it will last a little bit buy little bit and news to go slowly but like milk or when you get food poisoning you can still stop it yeah that's a good idea

    Nah, they're too similar to glow squid, BUUUUT I guess they would be pretty good for ambience.. And please please please if you DO add them, PLEASE make them drop Jelly. It would be so funny!
